Leila was an incredible blessing during the birth of our daughter. We hired her just in time, as I unexpectedly had to be induced the next day. Though induction wasn't part of my plan, Leila kept us calm, explained medical recommendations clearly, and advocated for our choices.Her communication, flexibility, and positive spirit were exactly what we needed. Leila's knowledge of pain-relief techniques and supportive tools made a huge difference, and she guided my wife in helping me through contractions, making us feel like a team. Throughout the class, our subsequent prenatal visits, and our whole labor/delivery/postpartum experience with her, she did an outstanding job at intuiting what we needed. She was able to read the room emotionally while staying upbeat and encouraging. When my scheduled induction dragged on very slowly, we told Leila to stay home for most of it because we didn't want more people in the room for that stage. But we had a couple of critical phone conversations with her that helped me through some very hard choices. I loved that I could tell her exactly how we needed her support and that I felt genuinely cared for by her even before she got to the hospital. When we did ask her to come, she was there quickly, and she brought such wonderful energy. She was present for the hardest moment--when we settled into the necessity for a c-section--and, crucially, she helped us feel like we had the conversation with our doctor on our terms. Our postpartum visit from her was also exactly what we needed. She's knowledgeable, nonjudgmental, warm, curious, funny but serious when needed, and genuinely interested in the people she's working with.

Leila was indispensable in my journey to understanding my fertility and my body. I initially went to her fertility sessions as a "tune up" after getting off birth control, but was immediately shocked by how much about my body and my fertility that I never learned. Leila was always kind and thorough when answering my (many!) questions. Her guidance with cycle tracking helped me realize what was (and was not) in the spectrum of "normal." Leila was instrumental in both my pregnancies. During my first pregnancy, I needed to switch hospitals. I lived in a rural community and the next hospital was about 2.5 hours away. Leila insightfully guided me through the difficult decision of switching hospitals. Her evidence based approach helped me critically evaluate my options. Ultimately it was for the best. With my second pregnancy, she was able to provide reassurance when I again needed to make a difficult labor decision. I am so thankful for her. I wholeheartedly recommend Leila and feel like she truly listens and supports.

Learning to track my cervical mucus has been an absolute game changer. Although it sounded a bit odd at first, Leila taught me how foundational mucus tracking is to cycle tracking. It has been so empowering to learn how and why cervical mucus changes during my cycle, how these changes impact my fertility, and how recognizing these changes helps me precisely identify where I am in my cycle. As an instructor, Leila is nonjudgmental, and creates a learning environment where I feel comfortable asking her any and every question. She is passionate about dismantling barriers for folks with uteruses to help us get access to information about OUR bodies. We are divine!

I worked with Leila around tracking my menstrual cycle. This was especially important to me since I was starting to have severe mood swings around my period. With Leila’s coaching, I was better able to track my biomarkers, estimate when my period would start, and most importantly bring information to my doctor in order to get the additional medical support I needed. Working with Leila had helped me feel empowered to take charge of my health and body and would 100% recommend her! Her approach is body neutral and supportive all the way with a focus on educating for empowerment.

We loved having Leila as our doula. She was extremely supportive from the prenatal visits to the birth itself to debriefing and bringing us food after at the postpartum visit. While I had a fast labor and didn't call Leila until about two hours before my daughter's birth, Leila made a big impact in encouraging me during contractions, helping us get out the door to head to the hospital (and getting a puppy pad in place to save my backseat!), parking the car for us, and documenting the labor with photos I'll treasure forever. When we're ready for a second child, I'll definitely be reaching out to Leila again!
