The course uses evidence-based information to help families figure out their preferences, how to advocate for themselves in the hospital, and to build community for the journey into parenthood.

This course, co-facilitated by Vallen Webb and Leila Walker, will help birth workers (including doulas, nurses, therapists, etc.) have a better understanding of how to support families experiencing pregnancy loss. The class combines evidence based research, personal storytelling, and practical tools so that birthworkers come away feeling prepared to support families through loss and grief. This course includes support with trauma-informed care, loss from a culturally competent lens, queer loss, and discussion of how to support yourself as a birthworker.
